Learn to format text and make your Excel sheets clean and professional.

1. Font Formatting

  • Home → Font group
  • Change font: choose from dropdown
  • Increase size:
  • Bold: Ctrl + B
  • Italic: Ctrl + I
  • Underline: Ctrl + U

2. Colors

Font Color

Click the A icon.

Fill Color

Paint bucket icon → choose background color.

3. Alignment

  • Left, Center, Right
  • Top, Middle, Bottom
  • Wrap Text
  • Merge & Center

4. Borders

  • Add borders around cells
  • Use All Borders option for tables
Use consistent formatting for neatness. Avoid too many colors.

Practice Task

  • Type a small table (5 rows)
  • Format header row: bold + center + light fill
  • Apply borders to all cells

Homework

  • Format an existing messy sheet to look professional
